Acne: causes and treatments

Acne Treatments

Acne is a skin condition characterized by red pimples, whiteheads or blackheads due to inflamed or infected sebaceous glands that is present mostly on the face. It isn’t just a teen skincare issue. In fact, dermatologists are seeing more adult acne cases today than in previous decades. Some adults develop acne for the first time in their 20s, 30s or beyond and others also had it as a teen. Either way, acne can be frustrating.

What causes acne?

Acne may be non-inflammatory or inflammatory. Subtypes of acne within these two categories include whiteheads, blackheads, papules, nodules, pustules and cysts. For the most part, the same factors that cause acne in adolescents are at play in adult acne. The four factors that directly contribute to acne are: excess oil production, pores becoming clogged by “sticky” skin cells, bacteria, and inflammation. There are also some indirect factors that influence the aforementioned direct factors, including:

  • hormones, stress, and the menstrual cycle in women, all of which can influence oil production
  • hair products, skin care products, and makeup, which can clog pores
  • diet, which can influence inflammation throughout the body.

Some medications, including corticosteroids, anabolic steroids, and lithium, can also cause acne.

Algae Peeling Regimen

Algae Peeling Regimen protocol is used for 1st stage acne. This stage is diagnosed because of excessive skin oiliness and the keratinization of the sebaceous follicles, blocked pores and the appearance of comedones, papules and pustules. The biological Algae peeling contains ingredients like algae, perfluorocarbon, herbs and organic compounds with a high capacity for transporting Oxygen in solution. Its micro-fibres penetrate the skin causing an increased blood flow and production of new cells. The result of this action is to balance the function of sebaceous follicles, reduce oiliness, increase microcirculation and improve the immune capacity. The skin become softer, cleaner, the pores are cleaned deeply, and regenerated.

It is advised to use DÉCAAR home care products to optimize treatment outcome, as more than 70% improved results have been noticed when the treated person combines the treatment with DÉCAAR homecare products.
